In a Chair by the Window

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of. . . a day to do nothing, absolutely nothing. Except to unwind. To sink into an armchair, pick up a book and read in the muted sunlight of a November afternoon. Add some iced tea and it's sheer, unmitigated bliss. In fact, maybe I'll go read some more right now. The sun set an hour ago but that chair and a book or two are calling my name. But first, let me go refresh my tea...

How about you? Do you have a place that invites you to come, sit and recharge?

Hi Eileen,

That chair looks so inviting. Hopefully Wendy and I can make a trip to Rostov to sit it in it ourselves. Thanks for the great reading on your blog! Happy Thanksgiving to you. David and Wendy

Oh, you know "they" say a picture is worth a thousand words...well, "they" were right! I can just see you sitting there Eileen! Can I come over?

Hey David Thanks for the note. yes, it's such a comfy spot. The chair originally belonged to Dale, former missionary here (you might know him?) and then got passed along to Igor and Natasha...and now it's my turn! LOVE to have you and Wendy visit sometime! Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and thanks for the photo you sent.

Karen - Thank you for your comment. yes - you can come over. But you might have to sit on the matching sofa instead. But of course you can stretch out on it a bit...and even work on your laptop from there. Yes, amazing what a photo will do, eh? Glad we're in touch! EE
